Acting SCO Secretary-General visits the Iranian Embassy in China and leaves an entry in the Book of Condolences

On 21 May 2024, Acting SCO Secretary-General Shukhrat Sobirzoda visited the Embassy of Iran in China and left an entry in the Book of Condolences in connection with the tragic death in a May 19, 2024 air crush of President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and other Iranian officials.

Shukhrat Sobirzoda expressed heartfelt condolences and support to the government and people of Iran, and the family and friends of the victims on their bereavement. He also noted the significant contribution made by the late president and foreign minister to interaction within the SCO.
