On 29 January 2024, SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming met with Russian Presidential Representative for International Cultural Cooperation and SCO Goodwill Ambassador Mikhail Shvydkoi, who arrived in Beijing on a visit.
The parties exchanged views in a friendly atmosphere on a wide range of issues of cultural and humanitarian interaction within the SCO.
Zhang Ming emphasised the important contribution that Mikhail Shvydkoi makes both as the SCO Goodwill Ambassador and the Russian Presidential Representative for International Cultural Cooperation to promoting ties between SCO member states in culture and the arts.
Mr Shvydkoi shared a number of specific ideas and proposals for further enriching cooperation in filmmaking, fine arts, music, publishing, etc. within the SCO, seeking out the most diverse and attractive forms for it.
The meeting was attended by SCO Deputy Secretary General Grigory Logvinov, Director of the Department for Multilateral Humanitarian Cooperation and Cultural Relations of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Alimov, and Permanent Representative of Russia to the SCO Secretariat Natalya Stepkina.
After the meeting, there was a tour of the SCO Secretariat building, during which Mr Shvydkoi got acquainted with the national halls of the SCO member states.
