On 15-17 November, Beijing hosted a regular meeting of the SCO Expert Group on International Information Security in a hybrid format chaired by the Russian side. Representatives of the SCO member states welcomed the Group's new full member, Iran, as well as the inclusion of Belarus as an observer in the event.
Interdepartmental delegations from all member states participated in the event.
The discussion focused on a wide range of issues related to the comprehensive cooperation of the SCO member states in information security, including interaction at relevant multilateral platforms, particularly within the United Nations.
The participants noted the importance of implementing the SCO Member States' Plan of Cooperation on Ensuring International Information Security for 2022-2023.
The meeting participants also discussed substantive initiatives aimed at further enhancing cooperation and improving the efficiency of the expert group's work.
