SCO Deputy Secretary-General Nuran Niyazaliyev took part in Eurasian Economic Forum-2023 (EEF 2023) under the motto: Creating New Opportunities for Cooperation, Striving for Future Development. The forum was held on 22-23 September in Xian, Shaanxi Province. It brought together politicians, entrepreneurs and scholars from 51 countries, including the SCO member states, observer states and dialogue partners.
In his welcome address at the opening ceremony, Nuran Niyazaliyev noted the need to optimise and reform the global economic framework for governments in today’s complex international environment, as well as to form an open, transparent, inclusive and nondiscriminatory multilateral trade system. He briefed listeners on the implementation of the Multilateral Trade and Economic Cooperation Programme and the SCO Economic Development Strategy until 2030.
The SCO countries' diplomatic representatives in China held a roundtable discussion on Deepening Regional Cooperation and Ensuring Prosperity and Development. The discussion was held on 22 September 2023 under the chairmanship of Nuran Niyazaliyev, and was organised by the SCO Secretariat and Xian Municipality. The participants discussed the prospects for practical cooperation in implementing specific projects within the SCO in order to ensure prosperity and well-being in the organisation's space. The participants also exchanged views and ideas on further deepening cooperation between the SCO member states in trade, investment, transport, logistics, agriculture, culture, sports and youth policies.
