On 27 September 2022, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Janesh Kain delivered an address, via videoconference, at the plenary session of the China-Central Asia non-governmental friendship forum, held in Xi'an in a hybrid format. He noted that Central Asia is the core region of the SCO space. The SCO supports the Central Asian governments’ efforts to ensure its prosperity, peace, and sustainable development, and to support the formation of a neighbourly environment, trust and friendship.
