On 8 April 2022, SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming had a conversation with Siddharth Chatterjee, the UN Resident Coordinator in China, at the SCO Secretariat. They discussed current SCO-UN cooperation and prospects for subsequent interaction.
The SCO Secretary-General briefed his partner on the implementation of memoranda, signed with specialised UN agencies, and on draft documents that are currently being coordinated. The sides underscored the UN's central coordinating role in maintaining international peace and security as a universal and international organisation.
Siddharth Chatterjee voiced some ideas, as regards cooperation between the SCO Secretariat and the UN Office in China, including the organisation of joint events. The sides noted the importance of maintaining regular contacts between both organisations and filling mutual dialogue with real content
