The Republic of Uzbekistan, which currently chairs the SCO, has initiated work on an agreement between the governments of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation member states to develop cooperation in the field of tourism. Its initial draft was prepared by the Uzbek side in December 2021.
Experts from member states' tourism agencies are meeting to coordinate the draft agreement. The latest meeting was held online on 3-4 March under the chairmanship of the Uzbek side. The text of the agreement passed the initial stage of approval. The next expert meeting is scheduled for the second quarter of 2022.
The agreement is expected to be signed during the meeting of the SCO Heads of State Council in the second half of this year.
