SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming’s meeting with Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the PRC Parahat Durdyev

On 22 February 2022, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Zhang Ming had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the People's Republic of China Parahat Durdyev at the SCO Secretariat.

Parahat Durdyev congratulated Zhang Ming on his appointment as SCO Secretary-General and praised long-term cooperation prospects between Turkmenistan and the Organisation.

In turn, the SCO Secretary-General noted Ashgabat's efforts to preserve regional peace and stability, in accord with the principles of the Shanghai Spirit. He expressed confidence that the upcoming election of the President of Turkmenistan, scheduled for March 2022, would prove successful.

The parties also exchanged opinions on other matters of mutual interest.
