The third Huangshan Development Conference took place in China's Huangshan City, Anhui Province, on 21 November 2021, held by the People's Government of Anhui Province and the Huangshan Municipal People's Government.
In his remarks during the opening ceremony, SCO Secretary-General said that the SCO member countries were doing everything possible to strengthen and expand cooperation in tourism in order to build a common tourism space based on the existing cultural, historical and economic ties.
Mr Norov went on to emphasise that the SCO member states attach special importance to stepping up trade, economic, industrial, transport, energy, investment, and agricultural cooperation, as well as closer ties in customs operations, telecommunications, innovation and other spheres of mutual interest, by relying on cutting-edge, resource-saving, energy efficient, green and low-emission technologies.
In this context, Mr Norov pointed out that the SCO Secretariat is ready to facilitate direct business-to-business ties in the tourism industry and associated sectors, and help attract investment in building and improving tourism infrastructure between the Anhui Province and the SCO countries.
To conclude his remarks, the Secretary-General praised Huangshan City for its tourism landmarks and developed infrastructure, and expressed hope that the third conference will promote the city's integration with other cities in the Yangtze Delta in terms of industrial ties, transport, tourism and the environment, enabling the city to tap foreign markets.
Heads of Chinese provinces, as well as researchers from France, Switzerland, Thailand, Korea and Japan took part in the conference.
