On 11 June 2021 Dushanbe hosted a summit for public administration academy rectors from the SCO member states in a combined format. It was called, "20 years of SCO: Prospects for cooperation between public administration academies and government services."
The summit was aimed at enhancing friendship and partnership between state administration institutions in the SCO countries, and exchanging experience in management and personnel training.
The summit was organised by the Public Administration Academy under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Centre for SCO Friendship and Cooperation in Tajikistan.
The summit was attended by representatives of scientific, academic and public circles, as well as the diplomatic corps accredited in Dushanbe.
The participants discussed the possibilities for expanding SCO cooperation in education and science, including increased practical training and an exchange of students and teachers, improving the quality of instruction in public administration and upgrading the related education programmes.
The participants believe that steady implementation of these measures could become a catalyst for academic development and enhance the efficiency of public administration systems in the SCO countries. They expressed the hope that the summit would promote the development of cooperation in public administration within the SCO space.
