On 23 October 2020, a webinar on building agricultural clusters in the SCO countries in 2020 was held at the Yangling Agricultural Hi-Tech Industries Demonstration Zone in Yangling District, Shaanxi, China, with the SCO Secretariat's support.
SCO Deputy Secretary-General Sherali Jonon, who moderated the event, noted the upward trend in the trade and economic cooperation between the SCO member states, the relevance of expanding mutual trade and introducing innovation to develop modern agriculture.
The next speaker, Li Jiuhong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Working Committee and Executive Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of Yangling Demonstration Zone, listed the key objectives of the webinar aimed at promoting the development of modern agriculture and building a comprehensive model of agricultural clusters for the SCO countries.
The participants exchanged views on the opportunities and prospects for trade and economic cooperation and for building clusters of agricultural industrialisation in the SCO countries. They also outlined the possible specific fields for SCO cooperation such as customs cooperation.
