On 1 September, the SCO Secretariat held a reception to mark the end of the ambassadorship of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the People's Republic of China Parviz Davlatzoda. The event was attended by the ambassadors of the SCO family countries, Turkmenistan, representatives of the Chinese Foreign Ministry and first SCO Secretary-General Zhang Deguang.
SCO Secretary-General Vladimir Norov noted that the Republic of Tajikistan, as a founder of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation that laid down its fundamental principles, is one of its active participants and champions of multilateral cooperation in ensuring the peace, stability and security of its member states and strengthening the Shanghai Spirit.
He also recalled the initiative announced by President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon at the summits in Qingdao and Bishkek in 2018-2019 reaffirming the great importance of promoting mutually beneficial multilateral cooperation between our countries.
"I want to point out Tajikistan's successful chairing of the SCO Heads of Government Council in 2017-2018, when key documents intended to step up trade, economic, cultural and educational cooperation were adopted. I am sure that the upcoming SCO presidency, which coincides with the SCO's 20th anniversary, will be held at the highest level as before," stressed Vladimir Norov.
He presented Ambassador Parviz Davlatzoda with a letter of gratitude as a token of appreciation for his fruitful cooperation.
Parviz Davlatzoda served as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the People's Republic of China with concurrent accreditation to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam from March 2016 to August 2020.
