SCO Secretary-General’s condolences to the Foreign Ministry of China on the passing of China’s Ambassador to Israel

On 18 May 2020, SCO Secretary-General Vladimir Norov sent a message of condolences to the Foreign Ministry of China on the passing of Du Wei, China's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the State of Israel.

Vladimir Norov pointed out in the message that the SCO Secretariat was deeply saddened by the news of the sudden death of the Chinese Ambassador to Israel. Mr Du Wei worked at the SCO Secretariat in 2003-2007. His wholehearted efforts greatly contributed to the organisation's development and earned him respect among his colleagues from the SCO member states.

"I would like to offer deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy on behalf of the SCO Secretariat and of myself personally to Mr Du Wei's family and friends. We will never forget him," the message reads.
