On 6 December 2019, Beijing hosted an official reception marking Republic of Kazakhstan Independence Day.
Attendees included heads and employees of foreign diplomatic missions, officials from ministries and agencies, experts, businesspeople, representatives of leading Chinese media outlets, members of the Kazakhstani diaspora, and Kazakhstani citizens working and studying in the People's Republic of China.
In his welcoming remarks, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to China Gabit Koishybayev highlighted independent Kazakhstan's achievements, large-scale national reforms aiming to create an inclusive society, promote a dynamically developing economy, guarantee high-quality education and advanced healthcare standards for the people.
Mr Koishybayev also noted the high level of collaboration, mutual trust and cooperation between Kazakhstan and China since the establishment of diplomatic relations between both states. This interaction has made it possible to elevate relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the
People's Republic of China to the level of all-round strategic partnership, becoming an example of neighbourliness and friendship.
Musicians from the Kurmangazy Kazakh State Academic Orchestra of Folk Instruments and soloists from the KazakhConcert State Concert Organisation performed national and foreign compositions at the reception.
The guests also watched a trailer of the joint Kazakhstani-Chinese feature film "Composer" about the life and creative work of the famous Chinese composer Xian Xinghai. This is a successful example of film industry collaboration. The film has received global acclaim and won four prizes at the Golden Screen Awards in Los Angeles.
