A meeting of the SCO Council of National Coordinators chaired by Tajikistan opened in Dushanbe.
The host side provided online monitoring of the event for the permanent representatives of the member states to the SCO Secretariat and for the staff of the Organisation's headquarters.

On the first day of the meeting, the Tajik side briefed the participants on preparations for the next SCO Summit and for the SCO's Council of Foreign Ministers meeting, as well as other events at the ministerial and expert levels.

The parties exchanged views on the draft agendas and lists of documents presented by the chairing party, which are planned to be signed during the SCO Heads of State Council and the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers meetings.
The National Coordinators also discussed the draft 2021 Plan of Main SCO Events and the draft 2021 Cooperation Programme between the SCO Foreign Ministries.

The meeting will continue until 29 January 2021.

The Council of National Coordinators arranges the SCO's current activities and ensures the interaction of the relevant ministries and departments of the SCO member states.

The Republic of Tajikistan took over the chairmanship following the SCO Heads of State Council Meeting on 10 November 2020.

Tajikistan's chairmanship coincides with the twentieth anniversary of the Organisation, held under the motto "20 years of the SCO: Cooperation for stability and prosperity."
