SCO joins the discussion on the humanitarian implications of the One Belt One Road Initiative

On 14 June 2018, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the CITIC Foundation for Reform and Development Studies organised the One Belt One Road High-Level Humanitarian Dialogue Forum in Beijing.

SCO Deputy Secretary-General Wang Kaiwen addressed the forum participants with a welcoming speech on behalf of Secretary-General Rashid Alimov during the forum's opening ceremony.

Wang Kaiwen spoke in detail about the long-term programmes and plans for promoting cooperation in education, culture, science and technology, healthcare and tourism, and the study and preservation of the cultural heritage of the SCO countries, as well as about the efforts the member countries are going to make to implement these plans.

The forum brought together about 200 delegates, among them the Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan, Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan to China, diplomats, leading specialists and experts, representatives of research and public organisations from the SCO countries.
