SCO Secretary-General’s official visit to India

On 7-8 May, SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov will make an official visit to the Republic of India at the invitation of Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj.

The agenda includes meetings with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and the leaders of several ministries and government agencies of India: Minister of Culture Mahesh Sharma, Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation Nitin Gadkari, and Minister of Commerce and Industry Suresh Prabhu.

The SCO Secretary-General will pay special attention to the preparations for the upcoming SCO summit in Qingdao, China, and the strengthening of multifaceted interaction within the SCO.

India and Pakistan were granted the status of SCO full members by the decision of the SCO Council of Heads of State on 10 June 2017.
