SCO Secretary-General meets with Mongolian Ambassador to China

On 1 March 2018, SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov met with Ambassador of Mongolia to China Damba Gankhuyag.

During the conversation, Mr Alimov and Mr Gankhuyag exchanged opinions on the current state of and prospects for the interaction of Mongolia with the SCO on issues of mutual interest, and in relation to the country's SCO observer status.

The Mongolian Ambassador praised the SCO's role in maintaining peace, stability and security in the region, as well as its efforts aimed at developing and increasing the prosperity of SCO nations.

The SCO Secretary-General briefed Mr Gankhuyag on the organisation's main events scheduled for 2018 and on preparations for the SCO Heads of State Council Meeting, due to take place in June 2018 in Qingdao.

The meeting between Mr Alimov and Mr Gankhuyag took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
