SCO Secretary-General expresses condolences to Iran’s Ambassador to China on the recent passenger airliner crash

On 19 February 2018, SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov sent a message of condolence, with words of support to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to China Ali-Asghar Khaji.

The message reads:

"Your Excellency,

We were deeply shaken to learn about the crash of the Iranian passenger plane on 18 February 2018 near Semirom in the Isfahan Province, resulting in numerous casualties, including women and children.

The Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation expresses its deepest condolences to the people and the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Please convey our sincere sympathy to the families and friends of those killed.
