Prosecutors General Meeting of the SCO countries held in the format of the eight for the first time

Today, on November 29, 2017, St Petersburg hosted the 15th Meeting of the Prosecutors General of the of the SCO countries which was chaired by Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yury Chaika. The meeting that took place in the format of the eight for the first time and was attended by the delegation of the SCO Secretariat headed by SCO Deputy Secretary-General Sabyr Imandosov.

In his speech Mr Imandosov drew the attention of the participants to the results of the SCO Astana summit, an important international event which confirmed the SCO's high reputation. He paid special attention to the SCO convention on countering extremism and the statement on joint struggle against international terrorism.

In line with the meeting's intensive agenda, the prosecutors-general of the SCO countries discussed issues of countering crimes which make use of modern information and communication technology, including online crimes against minors and young people, and combatting extremist and terrorist activities.

The participants adopted a final protocol based on the results of the meeting. 

The Institute of Cooperation between Prosecutors-General of the SCO countries occupies a special place in the SCO, supplementing the already established unique practice of multilateral joint action.
