SCO delegates attend RECCA conference in Ashgabat

On 14-15 November 2017, Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, hosted the seventh Regional Economic Cooperation Conference on Afghanistan (RECCA). The foreign ministers of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan, Rasit Meredow and Salahuddin Rabbani, chaired the event.

High-ranking representatives of the concerned states and international organisations took part in the forum. Working group participants reviewed current RECCA activities, including high-priority projects, charted during the previous conference in Kabul, and discussed funding sources. Some new projects were unveiled at the conference, and other events took place. Conference participants also focused on further support for the private sector and business cooperation, as well as ways of generating synergy between RECCA and other regional cooperation formats.

An exhibit on women in business took place during the conference. The heads of participating countries' chambers of commerce and industry met, and a business forum as well as a science-practical forum were held.

Ambassador Mikhail Konarovsky represented the SCO Secretariat at the conference.
