On 7 November 2017, the seventh meeting of the SCO Special Working Group on Electronic Trade took place at the SCO Secretariat in Beijing.
The participants of the meeting analysed the activity of the website SCO Regional Economic Cooperation and also discussed establishing an SCO trade association on e-trade.
The meeting of the Special Working Group also included a dialogue between representatives of government agencies and e-trading businesses, organised by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the SCO Secretariat. Representatives of Chinese companies informed the dialogue participants about the experience and prospects of developing e-trade. They also discussed prospects of digital economy cooperation.
The Special Working Group on Electronic Trade was established in March 2004 under the Council of External Trade and Economy Ministers of the SCO Member States in order to implement the provisions of the SCO Programme of Multilateral Trade and Economic Cooperation.
