On 31 May-2 June 2017, the SCO Secretariat in Beijing hosted a regular meeting of legal experts of SCO member-states' security services. The meeting was chaired by the Chinese side.
The meeting participants, including representatives of SCO member-states' security services and the SCO RATS Executive Committee, discussed issues of furthering cooperation to maintain security and stability. Their proposals will be submitted for discussion at the upcoming 31st meeting of the SCO RATS Council.
The working group of SCO RATS legal experts is a key institutional mechanism for cooperation between security services of the SCO member-states aiming to improve the regulatory framework of SCO security cooperation. Group members meet regularly in line with the decision of the SCO RATS Council.
