The third meeting of the SCO Special Working Group on Trade Facilitation
Promoting trade facilitation is a priority of SCO trade and economic cooperation

On 13-14 April 2017, the third meeting of the SCO Special Working Group on Trade Facilitation was held at the SCO Secretariat in Beijing under Kazakhstan's Presidency.

The experts exchanged views on the implementation of the List of Activities on Further Development of Joint Projects within the SCO for 2017-2021.

The participants exchanged information on the measures taken to facilitate trade, the export potential of the SCO member states, and the SCO exhibitions, forums and fairs scheduled for 2017, including with the use of various international economic venues.

They also noted the importance of short-term training courses on export and import procedures for representatives of small and medium-sized businesses of the SCO member states and agreed to study the possibility of their organisation.

The participants watched Kazakhstan's presentation, The Khorgos — Eastern Gate Special Economic Zone, and China's presentation about the International Logistics Park, the China-Kazakhstan International Logistics Base in Lianyungang, and the Industrial Park of Eurasian Trade and Economic Cooperation in Qingdao.

The Special Working Group on Trade Facilitation was established in December 2015 and operates under the Council of External Trade and Economy Ministers of the SCO Member States to implement the Programme of Multilateral Trade and Economic Cooperation between the SCO Member States.
