SCO Secretary-General extends condolences and support to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov over St Petersburg bomb attack

On 4 April 2017, SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov sent a letter of condolences and support to Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov over the terrorist attack in the St Petersburg metro that led to numerous casualties.
The SCO Secretary-General's message reads:

To His Excellency Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergei Lavrov

Mr Lavrov,

The news of the terrible tragedy that occurred on 3 April 2017 in St Petersburg filled us with deep sorrow.

This cruel attack on civilians has once again demonstrated the inhuman nature of its masterminds. I am confident that the perpetrators of this terrible crime will be rightly punished.

We intend to continue the joint uncompromising struggle against international terrorism within the framework of the SCO until it is completely eradicated.

The SCO grieves with all the people of Russia and expresses its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and wishes a speedy recovery to those who were injured.
