A meeting of the SCO Council of National Coordinators (CNC), chaired by the National Coordinator of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has opened at the SCO Secretariat in Beijing.
The meeting is scheduled to last until 17 March 2017 and its agenda includes more than 20 items related to the SCO's plans for 2017.
The meeting will focus on the organisation's current agenda, preparations for the meeting of the SCO Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, and coordination of the parties' activities in the run-up to the upcoming meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State scheduled to take place in Astana, the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, later this year.
The participants are expected to discuss preparations for the 12th meeting of the SCO Forum, the proceedings of a number of ministerial meetings, and other SCO events.
The CNC coordinates SCO current activities and ensures cooperation between relevant ministries and agencies of the SCO member states.
