On 20-22 February 2024, the Special Working Group on Promoting Investment of the SCO Member States held its eighth meeting in Tehran. The event was chaired by the Republic of Tajikistan and co-chaired by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the SCO member states’ ministries and agencies responsible for investment cooperation.
The delegation heads reported on the investment climate in their respective countries and measures undertaken to improve it. The participants discussed the prospects for cooperation in the context of implementing the SCO Economic Development Strategy until 2030 and exchanged opinions on how the SCO Multilateral Trade and Economic Cooperation Programme was being carried out in terms of investment cooperation.
The SCO member state delegations visited the Pardis Technology Park, Iran’s Silicon Valley, where they familiarised themselves with Iran’s hi-tech achievements.
A protocol was signed following the meeting.
