On 21 November 2023, SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming had a meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alibek Bakayev at the SCO Secretariat.
Alibek Bakayev informed the SCO Secretary-General about current priorities and plans of Kazakhstan’s SCO chairmanship, as well as preparations for the upcoming meetings of the SCO Heads of State Council and other SCO governing bodies. He supported the SCO Secretariat’s proposals to fill the agendas of presiding states with real content within various events during the themed SCO years, announced by the heads of state of SCO member countries.
Zhang Ming praised the efforts of the Kazakhstani side to elevate practical intra-SCO interaction to an entirely new level and voiced his readiness to provide the required assistance in addressing organisational aspects and details of events within Kazakhstan’s chairmanship.
The sides also exchanged opinions on streamlining current SCO activities and other topical issues on the multilateral agenda.
