On 15 November, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Zhang Ming received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria to the People's Republic of China Kaid Slimane Lahcene.
The Ambassador commended the activities of the Organisation and conveyed his country's interest in becoming a dialogue partner within the SCO to contribute to the development of diverse cooperation.
The Secretary General congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment, thanked him for acknowledging the SCO activities and welcomed the readiness to cooperate within the Organisation’s framework. He reaffirmed the commitment to maintaining close dialogue with the Embassy of Algeria in Beijing.
