On 13 September, SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming met with Kirill Babaev, the director of the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia (ICSA) of the Russian Academy of Sciences. They met at the SCO Secretariat.
Kirill Babaev noted the high priority given to the SCO on the institute's agenda and confirmed his intention to strengthen ties with the organisation's Secretariat.
The Secretary-General informed the director about the current activities of analytical departments within the SCO, emphasised the importance of their work, and expressed hope that ICSA would provide intellectual support to the SCO and promote cooperation in this area.
