On 5 September 2023, SCO member states held consultations with the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research under the Programme of Action to Advance Responsible State Behaviour in the Use of Information and Communications Technologies in the Context of International Security.
Deputy SCO Secretary-General Grigory Logvinov delivered welcoming remarks and UN Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for Disarmament Affairs Izumi Nakamitsu addressed the meeting participants by videoconference. Chair of the Open-Ended Working Group on Security of and in the Use of Information and Communications Technologies Burhan Gafoor delivered a report.
Senior officials from foreign ministries and competent agencies of SCO member states took part in the consultations.
