On 30 June 2023, SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming had a meeting with the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the People’s Republic of China, Mohsen Bakhtiar.
The SCO Secretary-General informed the Ambassador about main areas of cooperation within the SCO, the Organisation’s principles and goals, and upcoming events.
Zhang Ming and Mohsen Bakhtiar held a detailed exchange of opinions regarding the prospects and options for Iran’s multifaceted involvement in cooperation with the SCO as the Organisation’s member state.
