Meeting of Culture Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Member States

On 3 April 2023, SCO countries’ Culture Ministers held their 20th meeting online.

SCO Deputy Secretary General Shri Janesh Kain opened the meeting.

The ministers spoke about the importance of cultural exchange for promoting inter-civilisational dialogue among the SCO nations, emphasised the importance of preserving the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the SCO member states, and reaffirmed their intention to step up cooperation to popularise it.

The Republic of Kazakhstan announced its initiative to develop an action plan to implement the Almaty, SCO Tourism and Cultural Capital programme.

The participants agreed to hold their next meeting in the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2024.
