On 8 September 2022, the SCO Conference on Developing Medical and Pharmaceutical Cooperation was held in Beijing in a hybrid format, organised by China's SCO Committee on Good-Neighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation together with the China Pharmaceutical Industry Research Development Association (SINO-PhIRDA), with the support from the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in China.
SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming, Vice President of China's SCO Committee on Good-Neighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation Cui Li, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to China Farhod Arziyev, and SINO-PhIRDA Executive President Song Ruilin addressed the participants with welcoming remarks.
Taking part in the conference were representatives of healthcare institutions from Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, and Uzbekistan. Promotion of international medical and pharmaceutical cooperation as well as mutual recognition of the results of pharmaceutical management and regulation within the SCO were discussed.
The Chinese side announced the Initiative to Promote Cooperation in the SCO Pharmaceutical Industry.
