Several U.S. officials have visited China's Taiwan recently, after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to the region. Gao Ang speaks to Zhang Ming, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, to get his perspective on the issue.

ZHANG MING Secretary-General Shanghai Cooperation Organization "China is a member of the SCO, so we firmly support our member state to safeguard the country's sovereignty, national interests, and territorial integrity. SCO member states have also expressed a clear position in support of China's defense of its national sovereignty and territorial integrity in different ways. The SCO, we will continue to firmly support our member states in safeguarding their fundamental national interests and territorial integrity, and defending their national sovereignty and the long-term interests of their own people. At the same time, we will continue to support and strengthen our solidarity and cooperation within the SCO. This is not only for the interests of our member states, but also to maintain a fair and reasonable international order."
