On 23 May 2022 SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming held talks with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin during his working trip to Tajikistan.
They discussed political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between SCO member states, as well as efforts to expand the Organisation's international ties and to cope with current challenges and threats.
They had a detailed exchange on SCO member states' joint efforts to fight terrorism, extremism, illegal drug trafficking and trans-border crime, including in the context of Tajikistan's initiative to set up the SCO Anti-Drug Centre in Dushanbe.
Zhang Ming underscored the historical significance of the results of the 2021 SCO summit in Dushanbe marking the Organisation's 20th anniversary. 
Sirojiddin Muhriddin wished the SCO Secretary-General success in accomplishing his mission and reaffirmed Tajikistan's readiness to provide him with all possible assistance.
