On 30 March 2022, the Kazakh side, represented by the National Bank of Kazakhstan, chaired the fifth expert meeting on using national currencies in mutual settlements among the SCO member states. Representatives of financial and economic ministries and agencies, as well as national banks of the SCO member states, took part in the videoconference.
The parties exchanged views on the current situation and reviewed the results of the previous expert meeting. They continued the discussion of the draft roadmap of the SCO member states for increasing the share of national currencies in mutual settlements and approved the schedule for subsequent working meetings in 2022.
