Working expert groups hold meetings to control precursors and reduce drug demand

On 10-11 March 2022, Uzbekistan, via videoconference, chaired regular meetings of working expert groups to control precursors and reduce drug demand, as part of the Conference of the heads of agencies of the SCO member states responsible for combating illicit drug trafficking.

During the meetings, representatives of specialised ministries and agencies exchanged information on illicit precursor traffic in their respective states, and methods to expose such activity and thwart illicit drug connections as well as on measures to reduce drug demand at the national level.

The parties agreed to continue reviewing questions currently arising in the sphere of multilateral anti-drug cooperation at the upcoming Conference of senior officials of the anti-drug agencies of the SCO member states on 18-19 April 2022.

The relevant protocols were signed after the meetings.
