On 26 January 2022, the SCO Secretariat hosted SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming's meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the People's Republic of China Sergei Manassarian.
The conversation focused on issues related to Armenia's cooperation with the SCO including opportunities to consistently fill this dialogue with practical content. Opportunities for stepping up the SCO Secretariat's cooperation with embassies of dialogue partner states were discussed in order to expand the dialogue partners' involvement in the SCO's activities.
Mr Manassarian emphasised the relevance of Armenia's application to obtain observer status at the SCO and its interest in developing mutually beneficial and diverse cooperation with the SCO member states.
The SCO Secretary-General reaffirmed the Secretariat's interest in a constant dialogue with the Embassy of Armenia in China.
