On 20 January 2022, representatives of the SCO Secretariat attended a webinar on theresults of the Belt and Road Ministerial Forum for International Cooperation in Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Management, which was organised by the Ministry of Emergency Management of the People's Republic of China and the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR).
Heads of international departments at emergency management ministries of some SCO member states, observers and dialogue partners, representatives of specialised UN agencies, international and regional organisations, as well as researchers from several countries involved in the Belt and Road project spoke at the webinar.
The participants held a detailed exchange of opinions regarding the implementation of the Ministerial Forum's results. They agreed to continue holding similar events, so as to further advance cooperation in the field of disaster risk reduction.
