On 16 July 2021, Dushanbe was the venue of a SCO national food festival, held on the grounds of the Botanical Garden of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan (Iram Gods Park), as part of the Meeting of the Tourism Administrations Heads of SCO Member States.
The main goal of the event was to present national cuisines, customs and traditions of the SCO member states and to strengthen cooperation in the field of tourism. Those attending the festival had a chance to sample the national food of India, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.
Following the degustation a concert was given for the guests by local Dushanbe performers.
