On 6 July 2021, SCO Secretary-General Vladimir Norov met with Director of the SCO Regional Antiterrorist Structure's (RATS) Executive Committee Jumakhon Giyosov at the RATS headquarters in Tashkent.
Vladimir Norov and Jumakhon Giyosov discussed a wide range of current issues as well as future activities of the SCO Secretariat and the RATS Executive Committee in preparation for the SCO anniversary summit to be held in Dushanbe on September 16-17. The officials emphasised that the SCO had become an effective platform for proposing and implementing mutually beneficial initiatives in politics, the economy, cultural and humanitarian cooperation as well as in ensuring regional security across the vast Eurasian space.
They also touched upon some aspects of the current situation on the borders between SCO member states and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
