On 26-30 September 2020, Russia chaired a regular Meeting of the Council of National Coordinators of SCO Member States in Moscow.
The attendees discussed the preparations being made for the upcoming SCO summit, scheduled to be held via videoconference on 10 November 2020. They also reviewed documents, due to be signed by the SCO heads of state.
They coordinated the Moscow Declaration, an action plan to implement the SCO Development Strategy up to 2025, an SCO cooperation concept for developing remote and rural territories in the digital age and a comprehensive plan of joint measures to counter the threat of epidemics in the SCO region.
National coordinators also discussed and approved draft statements by the SCO heads of state in connection with the 75th anniversary of Victory in WWII, the fight against the spread of terrorist ideology, ensuring international information security, countering illegal drug trafficking, digital economic cooperation and the efforts to contain the novel COVID-19 infection.
Those at the meeting also discussed some matters regarding the Organisation's current agenda, and the meeting's final protocol reflected the relevant agreements concerning them.
A delegation of the SCO Secretariat headed by SCO Deputy Secretary-General Yerik Ashimov attended the event.
Members of the Council of National Coordinators of SCO Member States coordinate the Organisation's current activities and facilitate cooperation between the relevant ministries and agencies of the SCO member states.
