The 15th meeting of the SCO Forum will be held on 29 September 2020 at 2 pm (Beijing time), chaired by the National Institute for Strategic Studies of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The event will be attended by the heads of research centres that are members of the Forum, as well as representatives of analytical think tanks in the SCO observer states and dialogue partners.
The participants plan to exchange views on the following agenda:
— Building sustainable peace and stability in the SCO region: security challenges and threats associated with the coronavirus pandemic;
— New approaches and multilateral economic cooperation in the SCO space during the pandemic;
— The role of the SCO Forum and the potential for cooperation in addressing the challenges of the pandemic, in the COVID-19 response and relief efforts (public health, sanitary and epidemiological surveillance, emergency response, education, tourism, etc.).
Established in 2006, the SCO Forum is a permanent multilateral advisory, expert and research platform, an autonomous mechanism for scientific support of the SCO.
The meetings are held annually in each of the SCO member states rotating in alphabetical order (Russian alphabet).
