On 7 August 2020, Uzbekistan chaired a regular meeting via videoconference of the SCO Special Working Group on the Development of Transit Potential of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation's Member States.
The agenda included matters of expanding cooperation in the area of transport and transit, strengthening the regulatory legal framework of this cooperation, and launching multi-modal transport corridors Kashgar-Osh-Andijan, Kashgar-Dushanbe-Termez and others.
Meeting participants exchanged opinions regarding draft documents aiming to implement long-term measures to boost the competitiveness of member states on the global market of transport services, the development of international trade and more active economic operations in general.
The SCO Special Working Group on the Development of Transit Potential was established on 28 May 2004. The Republic of Uzbekistan permanently presides in the Group.
