On 3-6 December 2019, the SCO Secretariat in Beijing hosted a regular meeting of the SCO Council of National Coordinators (CNC).
The participants in the meeting discussed matters related to preparations for the SCO Summit in St Petersburg, the main event of 2020. They exchanged views on a list of documents planned to be submitted for consideration by the SCO countries' heads of state.
The national coordinators reviewed the drafts of the SCO Plan of Main Events for 2020 and the Programme of Cooperation between the SCO Foreign Ministries for 2020.
They also discussed the results of the third UN-SCO high-level special event (New York, 19 November 2019) and of the meeting of the leading Paris Pact Initiative experts on preventing the diversion of precursor chemicals (Shanghai, 26-28 November 2019).
SCO Secretary-General Vladimir Norov informed the participants about the results of his meeting with heads of the Arab League diplomatic missions held at the SCO Secretariat on 5 December 2019.
A number of other issues of the SCO's current activities were considered, with the agreements on these reflected in the meeting's final minutes.
The Council of National Coordinators coordinates the SCO's current activities and secures interaction between relevant ministries and agencies of the SCO member states.
The Russian Federation presides over the SCO in 2019-2020.
