On 25 November, Secretary-General Vladimir Norov had a meeting with Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Mongolia Traian Hristea at the SCO Secretariat.
To start with, the EU Ambassador described the SCO as a highly authoritative and attractive institution worthy of close cooperation and contacts for solving topical global and regional problems.
During their talk the parties thoroughly exchanged views on the SCO and EU activities that may be applicable to possible cooperation in the field of mutual interest, primarily in supporting peace, stability and security through combating terrorism, organised crime and drugs trafficking as well as other present-day challenges and threats.
They also discussed interconnection between international and national strategies, such as Greater Eurasia, the EU, the Belt and Road Initiative and the relevant joint efforts to build new lines of cooperation as well as transport and logistics corridors in Central and East Asia.
The meeting proceeded in a constructive and friendly manner.
