On 11 October, SCO Secretary-General Vladimir Norov met with SCO member-state permanent representatives at the SCO Secretariat. During the gathering a note of thanks was presented to Pakistani Permanent Representative at the SCO Secretariat Mohammad Amir Khan in connection with the completion of his mission in this capacity.
Vladimir Norov underscored Amir Khan's important contribution to carrying out the SCO agenda and increasing the SCO's international influence as well as his accomplishments in integrating Pakistan into the SCO as a member state. He wished him every success with the implementation of all his plans as Pakistan's permanent representative to the United Nations.
The Russian permanent representative at the SCO Secretariat, Dmitry Lukyantsev, pointed to Amir Khan's professionalism and rich life experience and expressed the hope that in his new position he would continue to give a helping hand with the development of cooperation between the SCO and the UN.
In his turn, Mr Amir Khan said how greatly he appreciated the all-round support he was given during his tenure in China by the SCO Secretary-General, the permanent representatives and the Secretariat workers.
Mohammad Amir Khan was Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan at the SCO Secretariat from June 2017 to October 2019.
