On 25-26 September, Moscow was the venue of a convention of experts to prepare for a Meeting of the heads of environmental protection ministries and agencies of the SCO member states. The Russian side chaired the event.
Those present heard the Russian party's report on the preparations for holding the first Meeting of the heads of SCO member states' environmental protection ministries and agencies on 27 September 2019 in Moscow.
The experts coordinated draft documents, due to be discussed at the upcoming meeting. They also exchanged opinions on subsequent steps to fulfil an action plan for the practical implementation of the Concept for Cooperation in Environmental Protection between SCO member states.
The experts also discussed the status of environmental protection cooperation and the prospects for its further development as well as future joint efforts to fulfil an action plan for the practical implementation of the Concept for Cooperation in Environmental Protection between SCO member states. They agreed to step up collaboration in the field of nature conservation.
