A SCO certificate has been awarded to Sergei Smetannikov for his personal contribution to the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation's activities.
Mr Smetannikov worked at the SCO Secretariat from February 2013 to August 2019. He coordinated the fulfilment of the SCO Secretary-General's instructions, as regards various incoming documents being received by the Secretariat, and monitored compliance with these instructions. He also conducted methodological oversight concerning record management at the Secretariat's departments.
Mr Smetannikov was also actively involved in the work of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation observer missions monitoring the preparations for and the conducting of the presidential elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2019, in the Russian Federation in 2018, in Azerbaijan in 2018 and also in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2016.
During his tenure, Mr Smetannikov won a reputation as a responsible employee who was respected by his coworkers.
